My middle daughter suffered a miscarriage the same day my son was diagnosed with breast cancer. The next evening my daughter-in-law suffered a seizure and on Wednesday was told my eldest granddaughter needs a biopsy on her kidney (only 9 yrs old).
Mr. Larry Pryor, O.P.: John Kolasinski is a temporary promised member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Group of Dominican Laity in Greenville SC. He was recently diagnosed with colorectal cancer. They have found out it is curable however not without much suffering. He will begin chemotherapy and radiation next week, surgery to follow and them more chemotherapy. Please ask all chapters in the southern province to keep John and his wife Jamie (also a member) in their prayers. May God grant them graces of peace through this trial as well as healing !

Mr. Rick Danner, O.P.: Please add this prayer reqA Prayer Request for Ms. Gloria Thrasher, O.P., President of Saint Catherine of Siena group in Rockdale, Texas. I had neck surgery on May 31st for a cyst. In the progression of things, they discovered a spot of cancer about the size of a quarter on my upper left lung. They also checked and biopsied several areas around the throat. They did find more cancer cells in that area, but not a source. They still don't know the source. I met with the cancer doctor on Wed. and he is setting up 6-8 weeks of treatments. This will be 5 days of radiation a week and one of those days will also be kemo. Anyway, the good thing is this cancer, although 2 different kinds, are slow moving and in the beginning stages. The doctor said I probably have had this condition only 6-12 mos. I will be going to Round Rock for treatments, an hour drive each way. The deacon will be trying to set up some drivers to take me part of the time and I also have several friends that have also asked to help with driving. The summer is the slowest time of the year for events and work, so that is in my favor. Keep me in your prayers. I talked to Sr. Helen a few days ago and she is aware of the situation.

Addie conveys her thanks for all of your prayers for her. She also wants me to convey the great blessing today as the doctor explained that 2 months after radiation, the tumor in both areas, lung and spine, has shrunk and the radiation and scar tissue has formed around the little tumor. Bone has actually started growing again, the doctor said. She is asking for prayers of thanksgiving!
